Employee community involvement

DCM Group embraces the spirit of community involvement and recognizes employees’ contributions to causes they are passionate about. In the spotlight this month is Ivan Celuszak who is actively involved in many organizations that are close to his heart. Over the past two years, Ivan has dedicated his time to the Grande Prairie SPCA which was recently shutdown due to lack of funding. Ivan built lasting relationships with pet owners and would regularly rehabilitate, house train and socialize dogs set to be euthanized. As part of a rescue initiative for wild dogs in the Northern communities, Ivan drove to Yellowknife in a kennel van nicknamed “Barkmobile” and came back with 9 Wolf/Husky/Malamute that he helped rehabilitate alongside GPSPCA professionals and found forever homes for these dogs.

As a federally certified Search and Rescue Volunteer Operator since 2015, Ivan currently volunteers at the Grande Prairie Technical Search and Rescue. Ivan proudly states that ‘’The memorable achievement with this organization was the successful ground search for Craig Drydsdale which lasted 42 hours and was written up about in the Edmonton Journal’’. Ivan and his team were awarded the RCMP Detachment Commanders Award for their efforts.

Since 2014, Ivan also sits on the Board of Directors of the Western Canadian Hillcross Association and helps organize annual winter events across Western Canada (WCHA – 2014 to present). Along with his friend, WCHA President Tyler Collet, and the WCHA crew, they host some of Canada’s only snowmobile hillclimb racing events.

In the summer months, Ivan spends his time in Victoria, B.C., where he captains an adult baseball league team.

We salute Ivan for his unwavering commitment to such important causes and value his dedication and giving of his time!
