Fortress Specialty Cellulose – Economizers Tube Replacement
The Fortress Specialty Cellulose mill has a planned annual production capacity of approximately 200,000 tons of specialty cellulose. Also known as dissolving pulp, cellulose is used in a wide variety of applications such as the production of textile fibers, acetate, cellophane, tire filaments, filters, and chemical additives.
In 2011, the mill was converted from a former Northern Bleached Hardwood Kraft (NBHK) producer to a producer of dissolving wood pulp. DCM was responsible for the installation of over 4000 heat exchange tubes in the evaporators, for 3 consecutive shutdowns.
