PTT Poly Canada – Polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) Plant

PTT Poly Canada is a joint venture between Shell Chemicals Canada and SGF Chimie. Its Montreal plant produces up to 95,000 tons of polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) per year. It is the world’s first commercial PTT plant producing a thermoplastic used into fiber or thread for the plastic or the textile markets.

DCM was commissioned to provide mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation services for building the new plant over a 10 month period. The mandate involved the installation of over 100 000 feet of carbon steel pipes and hundreds of electrical and instrumental equipments while respecting schedule and budget.
